Black amethyst vase with double handles. Made by the L.E. Smith
Glass Co., Mt. Pleasant, Pa. Black glass was first introduced by them in the 1920's. They made many vases with platinum trim in different styles.This vase was pictured in a 1930's catalog. The edge is
ruffled and has platinum trim around it. The vase has 8 platinum rings around the bulbous bottom area. The platinum is worn in spots, especially around the rim. The amethyst color can be seen when
held to a light. No chips. (Flowers not included) .
11" tall, 4 3/4" across the base, 5 3/4" across the top.
